Children's Health & Wellbeing

Children at Peak Tuition Academy benefit from a wide range of sports and games, including:
  • using the gym and park
  • sports hall games, such as dodgeball
  • bouncy castle games
  • trips to local attractions, such as laser tag and trampoline park.

Resilience

We support resilience development in several ways. We help people feel included and build a strong sense of belonging. We co-create our provision, so children have ownership of the work we do together. We support children to better manage their stress, working towards engagement of their stressors rather than avoidance. Children have opportunity to engage with a wide range of creative activity, to express themselves and build internal assets.

Healthy Eating and Family Meals

We encourage healthy eating in several ways. First we work with specialist staff and partner organisations to deliver cooking classes and nutrition education. Secondly, we support families to share recipes, both through cooking sessions and recipe booklets. Third, we provide ingredients packs and recipe cards to encourage parents to cook with their children. Fourth, we educate about managing food and food hygiene, including introducing families to end of life food. Finally we encourage children to try new food and engage families in community meals during the summer holiday programme.
