Safeguarding and Wellbeing

We create a safe and welcoming climate for learning where children are supported through challenging experiences that promote rapid learning and development.

Safeguarding

We work with our staff, parents and children we serve to create a safe environment for learning. Our designated safeguarding lead is always available during service delivery. We use safer recruitment practices. All our staff have passed an enhanced DBS check and level 1 or 2 safeguarding training. They receive regular safeguarding updates, know our procedures for safeguarding children and have access to support to implement them.

The children we work with understand our expectations for conduct and are supported to meet them. They have access to well trained, supportive adults, including the designated safeguarding lead, to talk.

 Wellbeing

We create a climate in which children can be happy and productive. Our designated mental health lead is available to support children and parents through listening, signposting and consultation.

We provide a wide rang of activities to support children to de-stress. We also actively research and provide specialised support to help children develop their stress coping capability.

Our wellbeing policy and bereavement policies can be found here

Having fun

We offer lots of activities for children to have fun and make friends. This is particularly important because opportunities for recreation and socialising, at school, have been declining for many years.

Recreation is an important tool to help children develop more effective stress engagement coping. We have holiday provision to support this work.
